What they tell you...but you don't believe...until you do

Things that someone has told me that I, for sure, did not believe:

  1. Dating in LA is a pain in the ass

Did I think this when I moved there almost two years ago? Absolutely not, because I was trying to live every free day I had like it was Hot Girl Summer. But now I’m tired and almost 25 and just want a steady relationship.

  2. You will not always like your job.

DO NOT GET ME WRONG; I love my job. But now I realize what my mom said when she used to say she did not like her job some days.

  3. That apartments are expensive as hell.

Capitalism rules us all, and the housing market is a sham, and why is Los Angeles, so freaking expensive to live?! Genuinely trying to understand. Anyways, I thought I was going to be able to get my apartment six months after living in LA…here we are almost two years later…just sayin’.

  4. Don’t date these n****s ‘til you 43 (a continuation of point #1)

Ari Lennox said this in her song “I Been” and every day that passes, I think about this lyric…and how true it is. DO NOT date these fools until you’re 43…or at least 26.

  5. Don’t wish your life away

I think this one is self-explanatory.

Stay Classique kids :)
