Makeup Madness

Makeup Madness

I love makeup, I truly do. I love watching tutorials, I love hearing about new products, I love hearing reviews on new products...I'm obsessed. But even though I have mad love and mad respect for the makeup community and for those who have massive collections of palettes and glosses...I'm nowhere near that level. If I were to rate my makeup skills on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being an expert, I consider myself a 7 at makeup. Like I know what looks good on me, but I would never consider myself an expert. That being said, I do have some tried and true products that I defs stick to and would recommend for everyone looking for some ideas on what makeup they can add to their arsenal.

Fenty Pro Filt'R

I will say this once and I will say it again, Fenty is the best foundation I have ever used and is literally the first one to have ever truly matched my skin tone. Like I will never be over what Rihanna did for the beauty community by dropping not only this but her other products as well. One of my big problems sometimes with using foundation, is that it can make my pores feel clogged, and with me having normal to oily skin sometimes no amount of setting spray or powder can stop the grease pit that can come to be on my face. But with this foundation, I have never had that problem. Honestly, it's very comfortable to wear and has defs become my go-to product this past couple of months since I bought it.

This particular foundation costs $34.00 which I feel is a pretty good price for a great quality foundation. In the container, you get about 1.08 FL oz. And honestly, that's a lot considering it doesn't take much to get good coverage. So if you're looking to switch up your foundation then I highly suggest this one. It can be found here on the Fenty website or at Sephora.

ELF Matte Magic Mist & Set

E.L.F is one of my favorite makeup brands ever. It's honestly so great for me, a broke college grad, because it doesn't break the bank...at all, and honestly has some really great products. This setting spray right here? Amazing. For instance, I went to an outdoor performance that my sister was in, and after watching that 3 hour long performance in the Texas heat and humidity, I looked in the mirror and my makeup looked great. It looked totally in tact and I didn't look like I rubbed grease all over my face. So, if you're looking for a great setting spray that doesn't break the bank, get this one.

This setting spray runs at a price of $4.00 and contains 2.02 fl oz. It can be found at any local drug store or any grocery store that has a makeup department or you can order it on their website here.

E.L.F Lip PLumping gloss

Now onto my second E.L.F product in the list (I told you I'm a fan of the brand) we have my third favorite makeup product, the E.L.F Lip Plumping Gloss in the color Mocha Twist. This was actually a purchase that I did on a whim because I needed a lip gloss for little money and that didn't have any shimmery/metallic finish to it. My other lipgloss (a ColourPop brand) was great but had a gold shimmery finish that didn't really sit well with me. This one was a perfect nude shade for me and goes well for more glam makeup looks and for more casual, day-to-day looks. It IS a plumping gloss, which I defs don't need, so there's a tingling sensation when I put it on, but willing to put up with it for the nice shine and color this gloss gives me.

Again you can find this gloss at any local drug store or grocery that carries E.L.F products or on their website here! The current cost of it is $5.00 and has a decent amount of product within its packaging. Also, a fun fact about that formula of this gloss is that it contains Vitamin E and Coconut Oil so it's very hydrating.

Summing up my E.L.F products, on top of this just being a very good brand that provides quality products that don't bust the budget, they are also cruelty-free and 100% vegan, which is a huge plus for me because I love supporting sustainable products.

NYX duo-chromatic illuminating powder

This. Highlighter. Is. So. Freaking. Bomb! It's amazing, it's perfect, it's stunning, it's blinding. Literally, this NYX highlighter has been my go-to one since last year and every time I wear it I get complimented on it. This particular color is called Synthetica and is my favorite color in this product by far. It compliments my skin tone very well and is a beautiful sunset orange/gold color. I've even had people think that I was wearing Rihanna's coveted Fenty highlighter, Trophy Wife, when I was wearing this.

So if you want to get your hands on this beauty, you can either buy it here on the NYX website or at any drug/makeup store that carries NYX products (i.e. Walgreens, CVS, Ulta, Sephora), or you can find them at any brick and mortar flagship store of NYX. This particular product currently runs at $8.00, which is a total steal and perfect for anyone who wants that blinding glow, but is on a budget.

Eyeko Brow Liner

For my final go-to makeup product, we have Eyekow Brow Liner in medium. So fun story, I actually got this brow liner from a Birchbox. Also, this is the first time I've tried a liquid brow liner like this. Even though this is my first time using the product, I do really like it and it makes my brows look full without them looking like a Nike checkmark. Another great thing about this product is that it's waterproof as well, which is super helpful for me, becasue it's summer and I'm a sweaty girl.

Unfortunately, this product is currently out of stock on their website, but they have other brow products here! Or you can check out my other favorite brand for brows Benefit as well!

So those are my makeup faves! Honestly these products will be my go-to's until something better and more worthwhile comes along for me. Let me know some of your favorite makeup products.
