Back To Black
This past weekend I listened to a TON of Amy Winehouse, and was kind of inspired to do a look modeled after her song Back to Black. Something kind of sexy and edgy with a vintage feel. This led me to put this hot number together and I have to say that I am completely in love with it. This is honestly a stye that I was not sure would look good on me, since I usually don’t go for tight AND short with a revealing top, but everything ended up being very balanced in the outfit. It is definetely something that I will wear again, maybe for a night out or a date (?) Who Knows!
Black on Black on Black
The top I got from Target (as everyone knows I am obsessed with Target) and its a simple black knit cami top from the brand Wild Fable. It’s not a crop top, but it is cut a bit shorter than other tops, like right at the beginning of high-waisted jeans. It’s very comfortable and was about $8.00, so quite a steal.
The skirt is an oldie but goodie from Banana Republic, and is a tried and true piece that I refuse to give up…ever. It’s a bit short, BUT perfect for a night out, especially with the zipper (that is a working zipper so beware!). Also it’s not like shiny pleather, and is pretty matte texture and look, so it goes with everything. Honestly, it’s been so long since I’ve gotten this skirt that it is defs no longer in stock, but I will link a similar skirt here. (Also my skirt is not actual leather, because I don’t support the use of leather products, so the one i’m linking is actually a vegan leather skirt)
In terms of shoes and accessories, the boots are Madden Girl and were a $20 steal from Burlington Coat Factory. I really liked that they weren’t clunky and huge, which has been my problem with how other combat boots look. Eventually, I will get some docs, BUT these were a great alternative, and are very versatile.
Finally the glasses are red cat-eyes from Target’s line Wild Fable and was also a $10 steal. Also these are like one of 5 pairs of sunglasses I have (yes I know I have a problem). I can’t quite remember where the necklace is from, but there are a ton that are similar to this that I’ll link here, and the earrings are hoops from Target’s, A New Day, line.
All in all, this is such a fun fit, I felt like a total boss in this, and defs had fun photographing this look!
