Ah summer! A time for us to start shaving our legs and dusting off our best bathing suits to get ready for the warm months. With the new season though, also comes new fashions for us to try out. With the hotter months, that doesn't mean that you have to abandon all fashion in an effort to stay cool in the burning heat (at least burning heat if you hail from Texas like I do). No no no, you can defs still be fashionable and be cool for the summer; this outfit proves just that!
Sunny & bright
First off the top. This is truly a great find from my shopping excursion on Melrose Avenue in sunny Los Angeles, and was a much celebrated find, as I was looking for a top like this for a while. It is super comfortable, despite it's frilly appearance and crops right at the belly button to reveal enough skin to cool you off. Also the straps are adjustable and there is a zipper up the side of the shirt to make it easier to slip on and off. This has probably become one of my favorite tops to wear and how could it not be with it's bright yellow color and cute white polkadots. This particular brand is called Wild Honey and you can find it in multiple shops and boutiques around L.A. or stores like Nordstrom.
Light & Frayed
Next are the jeans, which are hands down my favorite pair of jeans that I have ever purchased...like ever. They are so freaking comfortable and the perfect wash for summertime. They are a high waist and a stretchier denim that allows for more movement, and the denim is very lightweight and perfect for warmer weather. They are about the same length as capris and have slits up the front of them with frayed edges. I always get mad amounts of compliments in these jeans, so I encourage you to pick them up. The brand is Universal Threads and can be found at Target.
Accesories
For accessories, I chose to pair this outfit with my black Newsboy hat from Forever21 , My trusty Adidas Superstars, some fun sunnies that I also picked up from Target , and these beautiful earrings from Midwest Handcrafted Goods. The earrings are incredibly beautiful and can be found on her Etsy page here!
