As Good As Gold

As Good As Gold

Not sure what to rock for the holiday season? Well may I suggest adding a little gold to your holiday outfit? This outfit was so much fun to put together and to wear, and I would love to share how I put together this outfit.

The skirt (courtesy of Forever 21) was twirly and flowy, and so much fun. The gold color of it wasn't too intensely gold either, because we all know that  gold can go from nice and pretty to low-key blinding in a hot second. But the gold color of the skirt was toned down and appeared to be more of black skirt with a layer of washed out gold on top of it.

The cream sweater was a basic buy from H&M and I layered my favorite jean jacket from Forever 21 to stay warm in the unusually chilly Texas weather. The jacket was an old buy, (you know before they started adding patches and random sayings onto every inch of the jackets they sell) but H&M also has jean jackets for a pretty decent price.

The accessories that I wore with this outfit were my gold necklace, that I bought while in Spain, a burgundy floppy hat, purchased at Versona, gold dangly earrings from H&M, and my trusty Steve Madden boots.  tried to bring in touches of gold to go along with the skirt that I was wearing. The burgundy hat, I felt brought a really nice pop of color to the outfit. Yeah there was gold in the outfit, but it was paired with a cream sweater and gold accessories, so I think bringing in a jean jacket and a colored hat really helped to break up the monotony of it.

This outfit was a good mix of new pieces I bought and things that I already had in my closet. It was also a really great layering outfit, you can easily switch up the pieces if you want to. You could add a different colored sweater, maybe do a leather jacket instead of a jean jacket, or instead of booties you can do a cute nude or colored heel.

This outfit is my take on some pretty classic combinations, so don't be afraid to put your own twist on it! I have about a million ways to pair each of these pieces, so feel free to switch it up.

So I hope you can get some inspo from my holiday outfit for your holiday season. Because although christmas has come and gone, we still have new years parties to prepare for.

Special thanks to Jennifer Rosenfield for the amazing pictures!
